Swine Flu Death toll climbs to 109 in Rajasthan

From January this year Swine flu death toll mounted to 109 inRajasthan, highest in any state of India, During the last 24 hours five more persons succumbed to the contagious swine flu in different parts of Rajasthan.

Two persons each died in Jodhpur and Jaipur districts each, while one succumbed to the flu in Barmer, an official of state Medical and Health Department said on Wednesday.

An offical said "Out of 1,248 people tested positive for the virus, 109 have died in the state from January 1 so far,”Of the 33 districts in Rajasthan, 29 are affected with swine flu.

As per the MHD records. Dholpur, Hanumangarh, Sirohi and Baran districts were reported to be safe, the directorate official said.

So far, Jaipur has recorded the maximum number of 21 deaths due to flu followed by Ajmer 19, Naguar nine, Barmer eight, Jodhpur and Chittorgarh seven each, Banswara and Kota five each, Tonk and Bikaner four each, Bhilwara three, and Dausa, Sikar, Pali, Bundi and Udaipur two each.

One person each succumbed to swine flu in Bharatpur, Churu, Sriganganagar, Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Jaisalmer and Dungarpur districts.
