Due to Poor Sex ratio in the state one of the Independent MLA Randheer Singh Bhinder demanded that a rule banning more than two kids for those seeking government jobs and contesting election should be relaxed.
He also said that the states of Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana have withdrawn the limit of two kids to contain girl foeticide.Other ruling BJP members, including Phool Chand Bhinda, Srichand Kripalani also raised their voice in support of more kids in the family.
Replying to a sensitive debate, Minister in-charge, Home, G C Kataria said, “Law is meant and aimed for population control and it was mandatory for every one including elected representatives. If this law is imposed on MP, MLAs, I will follow it and would not contest the election.”
While a veteran Congress MLA Pradhyuman Singh rejected the ruling MLAs demand saying there was no need to change this clause in the law.
