Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday laid the foundation stone of a crucial inter-state national highway (NH) in this Haryana town.
Modi laid the foundation stone of the four-laned Kaithal-Narwana-Hisar-Siwani (Rajasthan) national highway (NH-65). The project will cost nearly Rs.1,400 crore and will be completed in two years.
Union ministers Nitin Gadkari (Road Transport and Highways), Rao Inderjit Singh (Planning) and Krishan Pal Gujjar (Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways) accompanied the prime minister.
Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders were among those present on the occasion.
Modi’s visit here, even for an official function of the National Highways Authority of India, is being seen as significant in view of Haryana going to assembly polls by October this year.
