On Friday night of 23rd january a blast took place inside a polling station in Khankad gram panchayat of Jhadol Phalasia tehsil Udaipur.
The polling station is housed in a government school building where three employees busy with the preparations were injured in the explosion. Tension gripped the area as polling was conducted amid tight security with some 200 guards deployed in the village.
Collector Ashutosh A T, SP Ajaypal Lamba and other officials were at the school to supervise the poll proceedings on Saturday which concluded peacefully. Though the attackers were not identified, however police strongly suspect it to be caused by one Dharmilal,who is a candidate for sarpanch post.
