Met Department has predicted small rainfall in Rajasthan Border Districts as Nilofar storm has become feeble now and there is no danger while only slow rainfall will occur. Border Security Forces of Rajasthan have been asked to stay alert in the wake of cyclone storm ‘Nilofar’.
“As the cyclone storm weakened over Gujarat, districts on Rajasthan’s border will have only drizzles or mild rainfall in next 48 hours as the major threat was over,” a state MeT director said today.
Most places in Western Rajasthan were witnessing misty and cloudy conditions since yesterday, he said, adding there might be a foggy weather in western and other north-east regions due to fall in temperature following influx of heavy moisture.
As ‘Nilofar’ cyclone fizzling out over Gujarat, a low pressure area usually called “depression” was developed in the North East of Arabian sea, he said.
As a precautionary measure, the BSF had alerted its units on the border line of Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bikaner and Sriganganagar districts, while the district and police administration were also alerted to be on toes to meet any eventuality.
