The eighth Jaipur Literature Festival inaugurated by Vasundhara Raje

On Wednesday the eighth Jaipur Literature festival was inaugurated by the Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje with the promise of more literary and music festivals at diffrent historic places in the Rajasthan. The prestigious five-day festival will be attended by several prominent authors, poets, Nobel Laureates along with some Bollywood celebrities.

Nearly 300 speakers from various fields are expected to speak on a series of issues ranging from gender equality to the global economic crisis and other issues relating to literature, art and films.

The main Attraction and participants of Fair who are going to attend to the Literature Festival this year are Former president A.P.J Abdul Kalam, actor Naseeruddin Shah, China-born British author Jung Chang, playwright Girish Karnad, Nobel laureate V S Naipaul, renowned contemporary travel writer Paul Theroux, Pulitzer Prize winning poet Vijay Seshadri, Oscar-nominated screenwriter and novelist Hanif Kureishi.
