5 killed, 7 injured while returning from Ramdevra

Five devotees were killed and 7 other were injured when a van full of devotees returning after paying obeisance at Ramdev temple collided head on with a bus coming from the opposite direction on Friday late night near BSF premises on Pokaran bypass, 120km from Jaisalmer.

According to the information from police, 10-12 devotees of Popa ka Kheda under Sadri police station area in Chittorgarh district were returning to their village after the darshan of Ramdev temple. 5kms away from Ramdeora, a bus coming from Pokaran collided with the van. The collision was so severe that four devotees were killed on the spot, whereas one succumbed while undergoing treatment at the hospital. 108-ambulnace reached the spot and Pokaran SDM CM Verma and deputy Kalyan Mal Banjara along with police force reached the spot. They sent the injured to hospital. Seven devotees were injured, out of which condition of two is said to be critical. The information has been given to the family members. The bodies were handed over the family members after post mortem on Saturday.

The interstate fair at Ramdeora will start from September 7 and prior to this, thousands of devotees from many places from the country are coming for darshan.
