Former Indian pacer and allegedly tainted cricketer S Sreesanth tied the knot with Bhuvanesh Kumari, a girl from a Jaipur erstwhile royal family. Sreesanth was banned for life from all forms of cricket after a panel found him guilty of match-fixing charges. Now he started a fresh innings on Thursday by tying knot with a girl from a Jaipur erstwhile royal family.
The simple marriage ceremony was held at Sree Krishna temple in Guruvayur in Kerela. The couple is later scheduled to go to Sreesanth’s ancestral home in Kothmangalam in Ernakulam district.
Though the family members had claimed that Virender Sehwag , Gautam Gambir and other players would attend the wedding, they were not present at the temple. But they are likely to attend the reception later in the day.
Both Sreesanth and Bhuvanesh Kumari, a fashion designer, have been dating for some time and their families stood by them in troubled times.
The speedster was jailed after his name cropped up in the match-fixing scandal during the last edition of the Indian Premier League. The Board of Control for Cricket in India had banned him and his Rajasthan Royals team-mate and Mumbai spinner Ankeet Chavan for life in September.
Sreesanth has been charged under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act and the case has now been posted for December 18.
