Heavy rain hits normal life in Rajasthan

A MeT report said that the heavy rain occurred in the state due to ongoing strong western disturbances arriving from Lal Sagar behind Pakistan and thick moisture from Arabian sea. Hailstorm hit the standing crops in parts of Rajasthan, especially in western regions of Jodhpur, Pali, Sirohi, Barmer, and southern region of Hadauti on Sunday night.

Kotkasim recorded the maximum rainfall of 17 cm since on Sunday night. Kishangarh and Ramgarh recorded rainfall of 9 cm each at 8.30 AM, followed by Tadarai singh 7 cm, Patan and Bali 6 cm each, Alwar, Deoli, Gananagar, and Sadul Shahar 5 cm each.

Despite partially sunny day, Jaipur recorded a maximum rainfall of 30 mm in the last 24 hours though heavy rain lashed the state capital this afternoon. Western disturbances are likely to pass out by Tuesday morning.

Mount Abu on hills recorded a minimum temperature of 8 degrees Celsius on Sunday night, and Sikar on plains was coldest at 11 degrees Celsius.

MeT department has forecast that light rains will continue till Monday in parts of the state.
