Even before the formal release of BJP manifesto, state president Vasundhara Raje on Saturday set out to woo the tribals by announcing special schemes under the tribal sub plan.

“If we come to power, we will set up a special police battalion in the name of Maharana Pratap on the lines of Hadi Rani battalion we had set up when the BJP was in power. We will waive the loans of small farmers in the tribal belt and also join the smaller towns to mega highways,” said Raje, addressing close to 1 lakh supporters and party workers at the Maharana Bhupal Stadium. She claimed these are included in the party’s manifesto, which leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria in his speech said was ready and would be handed over to Raje soon.

Raje also promised 24-hour power supply and drinking and irrigation water in the rural areas. Most of the people were tribals from the rural areas of the belt.

Raje also assured BJP’s prime minister candidate Narendra Modi of complete support in the Mewar and Vaghad regions, which would ensure the party’s victory not just in the assembly polls but also in the Lok Sabha elections. “We will now rest only after ensuring you sit in the PM’s chair,” she said.
