In the past 12 hours Udaipur has received 13.8 mm of rain in various parts of the city, after hot and humid 10-day-long cyclic winds, monsoon is active since mid-night of 3rd July. With the arrival of early monsoon the town is deprived of heavy showers, expected earlier for the season.
According to the data received from the Meteorological Department located at Dabok, a cumulative of around 110.6 mm (4.5 inches) of rainfall is recorded after early showers of pre-monsoon, however today, starting from early morning the city witness medium downpour.
The changed climatic conditions and dark sky suggests heavy rainfall in nearby areas of the city, as a result water bodies in remote areas of the town have marked up the water level, whereby nearly 10 mm of rainfall was recorded around Jaisamand Lake.
