Music lovers in Jaipur will have yet another festival to look forward to, this time of a different genre. Shree Music Festival, an initiative by Rajasthan Forum along with Jaipur Citizen Forum to provide national platform to Rajasthan’s art and artists, would be organized at the Jawahar Kala Kendra from December 7-9.
The festival will also pay a rich tribute to all the musical legends from the state who passed away in recent times. Mehdi Hassan, Ustad Sultan Khan, Jagjit Singh, Rahim Fahimuddin Dagar, Ustad Asad Ali Khan, Gopi Ji Bhatt and Nirmal Mishra will be remembered during the opening ceremony.
The entry to the festival is free and the performances will begin at 6 pm daily. Eminent artists including Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, Hariharan, Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Bickram Ghosh are set to regale city’s music lovers.
The itinerary for Day one includes performance by upcoming classical singer from Jaipur Mohd Amaan. Among others participating in the fest are vocalist Manisha Agarwal, satvik veena exponent Pt Salil Bhatt, accompanied by Cassius Khan from Canada on the tabla.
The three-day festival would also witness a duet by Jagdish Mothiya and Kailash Mothiya who will present (Jugalbandi) on violin and sitar and Jodhpur’s upcoming classic singer Rajendra Vaishnav also showcase his talent. Pt. Bickram Ghosh from Kolkata will enthrall the audience. On 9th December there would be performances by Amita Dalal from Ahemdabad on sitar and Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt on Mohan Veena. The programme will concluded with A. Hariharan’s music offerings.
