An 11-year-old girl was gangraped in August 2012 in Rajasthan’s Sikar region. Her family is still fighting for justice. The family says it continues to get threats from the accused and has got little in terms of help from the government.

The girl was gangraped by five men in a jeep and was injured badly. The police are yet to conduct identification parade of the accused who are out on bail.

“The police did not help us. If they had helped us that night, my sister would be safe. After four months the men still haven’t been charged. The police say they are waiting to question my sister. How can they do that? If she gets only after a year will it take that long to sentence the men? They have the proof, they have the witnesses. The men must be punished and their faces shown everywhere so no one will do something like this again,” said the victim’s sister.
