Displaying awesome technical prowess, India internationals Saurav Ghoshal and Joshna Chinappa sailed into the semifinals of the 61st Senior National Squash Championship at the Jaipur Club Courts.
It was an easy outing for world No. 20 Ghoshal who outplayed Vrishab Kotiyan of Maharashtra to post a facile, 11-3, 11-3, 11-8 to storm into semis.
Ghoshal will now take on promising youngster Ravi Dixit in the last four encounter. Dixit had to exert a bit to ward off Gaurav Nandrajog of Delhi 11-9, 15-13, 11-9. The third seeded Mahesh Mangaonkar made it to the last four by beating Sandeep Jhangra in straight games.
Second seed Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu too confirmed his semifinal ticket by getting better of Vikas Jhangra 11-2, 11-4, 11-9.
In women’s section, Joshna proved too strong for local girl Nandika. The world number 27 thrashed Nandika 11-2, 11-4, 11-4 to set up semifinal clash with Janet Vidhi who beat Rajasthan’s Tarunima 11-6, 11-2, 11-8.
