After the success of Sachin Anthem, now Kailash Kher comes to Rajasthan. Sachin Anthem,Kailash Kher’s special song dedicated to Sachin Tendulkar has been downloaded a record number of times in the past two weeks. Kailash Kher also wants to upload the video of his Sachin anthem. Kher, who is currently in Jodhpur to perform at a private function, confirmed the news. “It’s been two weeks since we uploaded the audio on YouTube. And, in a day or two, I will upload the video as well,” Kher told us over the phone from Jodhpur.

Overwhelmed with the response to his song, Kher said he was not expecting this from his fans. “Such things add to your karma. So when you create your fan base, you owe more responsibility and accountability. That’s why I created this song, without any intention of enhancing the entertainment quotient. It was my tribute to the great cricketer. Moreover, as an artiste, it was my way of giving it back to my fans. Thousands of downloads in two weeks since we made it available, is something I did not expect. I am just flattered,” Kher said. The song was uploaded on November 14, the day when the master blaster played his last match in Mumbai.

We had earlier reported about Kher’s plans to shoot his next Sufi album in Rajasthan, which is in collaboration with folk artiste Prahlad Singh Tipaniya, a Padma Shri awardee. When asked about the progress, Kher informed, “It is sure that the video would be shot in Rajasthan, I am still working on the locations. I find the tranquillity and emptiness of sand dunes very attracting and appealing. Jaipur ki khoobsurti mere dil mein hamesha hi basi rehti hai, isliye Pink City mein bhi shoot karenge. But at the moment, I am tied up with the upcoming film Desi Kattey, which is another experimental project for me.”

Divulging more details about his composition for the film, he says, “Just like seven colours, seven continents and seven births, I have added seven flavours in the seven songs of the film.” Kher has roped in Rekha Bharadwaj, Shreya Ghoshal, Hard Kaur, Shaan and Sonu Nigam to sing for him. “Ab mujhe Shankar bhai (Shankar Mahadevan) se bhi request karna hai ki wo bhi ek song hamare liye karen. It would be a thought-provoking song. We are also planning to do a promotional video for the film. By mid-December we’ll start shooting for it with the entire Kailasa band,” he says.
