Rajasthan government and South Korean Trade and Investment Agency (KOTRA) would sign a memorandum of understanding for setting up a dedicated industrial enclave for South Korean companies in Alwar district.
The enclave is proposed to be set up at Ghilot near Neemrana on the same lines as the Japanese Zone where 20 Japanese companies have commenced their production activity.
It was informed by a senior government official at a meeting with a Thai delegation which is visiting Rajasthan to explore trade and investment potential.
The delegation led by Thai Ambassador to India Pisan Manawapat discussed trade and investment potential in the state especially in the areas of auto components, infrastructure, energy and tourism, with additional chief secretary (Industries) Sunil Arora and other officials.
Arora gave the visiting delegation a detailed perspective of the industrial scenario in the state.
He said that over 20 major Japanese companies have commenced their production activity in Japanese zone in Neemrana and informed that the government was in talks with South Korean Trade and Investment Agency (KOTRA) for setting up an enclave exclusively for the South Korean companies in Neemrana.
“An MOU would be signed between KOTRA and RIICO soon for setting up a country specific industrial enclave for South Korean Companies,” Arora said in the meeting.
The delegation met with additional chief secretary (Industries) and chairman RIICO (Rajasthan state Industrial development and Investment Corporation) Sunil Arora and other officials.
Arora said the business and trading association between Rajasthan and Thailand are very old and the entrepreneurs from Rajasthan have got strong presence in Thailand MD RIICO Naveen Mahajan explained the role that RIICO plays in facilitating the industrialization of the state and some the recent initiatives which have been taken to promote Rajasthan as a prominent business destination.
He said that the State has taken various steps for rapid industrialization through enabling legislations like Single Window Act.
Other officials from RIICO and the government were also present in the meeting.
