It has been almost a year now since the records were submitted by the housing societies falling under the Prithvi Raj Nagar (PRN) Scheme, but so far no decision has been taken in this regard by the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA).

This has affected over five lakh residents. With the state government not doing anything till now about the regularization of scheme, the dreams of many residents living here to avail basic facilities such as roads, water , electricity for the past 24 years are shattered.

Giraj Singh Khangarot, president of Prithvi Nagar Sangharsh Samiti said, “We feel cheated as the state government is not taking the procedure seriously. The high court has banned the new water and electricity connections as decision to provide plots to successful allottees in PRN scheme is still pending. An apt answer should be presented so that relief to all the residents can be provided.”

According to officials, around 22 years ago when JDA was launching the scheme in 11,600 bighas, the authority received around 3,000 applications for houses in the scheme. “However, the scheme could not be regularized and JDA allotted houses to the applicants in Kalpana Nagar on Agra Road. Many allottees approached the court and asked for plots in the PRN scheme. The decision over this is still pending,” said an official.

Khangarot added, “The government can at least work on the submitted records so that when the order is given land allotment can be done.”
