Mahesh Bhatt is going to shoot first schedule of City Light, an official remake of the award-winning film Metro Manila in Rajasthan.
A little birdie tells us that Fox Star Studios and Vishesh Films will commence the shoot of their next- City Lights in Rajasthan mid December 2013. The film is an official remake of UK’s international award winning film Metro Manila that has just won the best film award at the recently concluded, Moet British Independent Film Awards and was audience’s choice at Sundance Film festival 2013 as well. Metro Manila is also Britain’s entry in the Best Foreign Language film category at the upcoming 86th Academy Awards.
The principal photography of City Lights has taken place last week in Rajasthan and this will be followed by a weeklong schedule mid-Dec onwards. Based on the life of a poor farmer who comes to the city of Mumbai in search of a better life, the film also marks the coming together of director Hansal Mehta and actor Rajkumar Yadav for the second time, after their critically acclaimed project, Shahid.

City Lights will hit the theatres on May 1st, 2014.
