It’s the start of May and mercury rises as each day passes. The increasing temperature is a forecast of how the days of summers will be in the state.
On Tuesday, Jhalawar and Bundi recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 43.2°C while even in Jaipur, the maximum temperature of 39.4°C was recorded.
The heat and the sweat is making lives of people across the state difficult; as many as seven places recorded maximum temperatures of more than 40°C in the state.
While Kota recorded a maximum temperature of 41.9°C, Chittorgarh was also feeling the heat as 41.1°C was recorded as the maximum temperature.
In Shekhawati region, Churu recorded a maximum temperature of 41.3°C while 40°C was recorded in Ganganagar.
In Barmer, a maximum temperature of 40.6°C was recorded. Other places too continued to reel under intense heat condition; Bikaner recorded 39.4°C while Ajmer and Dabok were close to 40°C, recording maximum temperatures of 39°C and 39.5°C respectively.
Other places including Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, also experienced a spurt in temperature.
The meteorological department has predicted that the trend will continue and weather would remain mainly dry across the state.
Though in the past few days, state got some respite during the daytime due to the presence of upper air cyclonic resolution in the eastern part of the state, causing thunder showers in few places including Jaipur.
The condition gave a temporary relief making the weather pleasant but now it’s soon back to high temperatures and dry weather.
