A man was arrested in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur Thursday for sexually abusing his 14-year old daughter for several months, police said.
According to the police, the crime came to light when the girl was found crying in her class Tuesday.
“She was taken to the principal. Asked what was troubling her, she told the principal the shocking story of her sexual abuse,” a police officer said.
“The girl said that she was being raped by her father for several months. Whenever she resisted, he beat her up,” said the officer.
The officer said that a first information report (FIR) was registered on the basis of the girl’s complaint.
“The father was arrested Thursday and we have started to question him,” he added.
