This year also for Lok Sabha Election 2014 polls both the major parties of India congress and bjp have been on the way to caste politics in order to get votes and to win the elections. It seems that they have finalized the candidates while thinking of religion and caste.

Historically in Rajasthan no party dared to change the structure of caste politics as caste in Hindu society is a key factor and is inevitable.

This time Congress has fielded four Rajputs, BJP has three candidates while Jaswant Singh is contesting as an Independent. In all there are 16 Jats belonging to the major parties in Ajmer, Barmer, Nagaur, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Pali and Sikar. In all these constituencies barring Ajmer Congress has fielded a Jat candidate against BJP’s Jat candidate. In Ajmer Sanwar Lal Jat is pitted against PCC president and Union minister Sachin Pilot.

The state is currently witnessing caste politics like that in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The Rajputs are upper caste like the Bramhins, but the Bramhins have been losing their numbers despite a presence in all the divisions .
