Khushi Tiwari from Hindon secured 2nd position in AIPMT entrance exam

Khushi Tiwari, 17, from Rajasthan's Karauli district, and a coaching student of Kota's Allen Career Institute, was ranked second in India in the retest for AIPMT Examination, results for which were declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday. She scored 688 marks out of a maximum of 720. Another student from the state, Nayan Gupta, 18, of Alwar bagged the 5th position in the test.

Daughter of dentist parents, Khushi was ranked 129 in the AIIMS exams held earlier this year, and had taken admission in AIIMS, Jodhpur (Rajasthan). Talking to HT on phone from Hindaun City, Khushi said that she used to study for close to 14 hours every day, and credited her success to her parents and teachers.

Now that I have got second position, I can now seek admission in Delhi’s Maulana Azad Medical college. It is rated as the best medical college after AIIMS, Delhi,” she said. Khushi added that she wants to become an endocrinologist.

When asked about the re-test of AIPMT this year following allegations of cheating and paper leak, she said that though it added pressure to the aspirants, it was eventually only helped the deserving students.

Alwar’s Nayan Gupta, who stood 5th in the all-Indian ranking, also went for coaching to the Allen Career Institute. He too plans to take admission in Delhi’s Maulana Azad Medical College. Both his parents are doctors.

Director, Allen Career Institute, Kota, Brajesh Maheshwari told that 9 out of 10 students in Merit of Top 10 are from their institute including 5 regular classroom coaching students and 4 Distance learning students. About success of Khushi Tiwari and other students, he said that these students maintained their momentum from scrapped AIPMT Examination of May 3 to retest on July 25 this year which lead to their success.
