Pink City made it to the list because of increasing infrastructure and its proximity to dedicated freight corridor. Bangalore has topped the list. It is followed by Chennai.

Jaipur has been ranked among the top business destinations of the country. It has been ranked 15th in the list of 21 cities in a survey conducted by Global Initiative for Restructuring Environment and Management (GIREM) and real estate consultancy firm DTZ.

Bangalore has topped the list. It is followed by Chennai.

Jaipur has made it to the list because of increasing infrastructure in the city and its proximity to dedicated freight corridor, said industry experts.

Notably in Jaipur region, the freight corridor passes through Neem Ka Thana, Ringus, Phulera, Kishangarh and Ajmer. Commenting on the findings of the report, GIREM chairman Sankey Prasad said that some of these top 21 business destinations in India are already established while others have the potential to emerge as major business destinations.

“The ranking provides companies across industries and sectors with insights for future investment opportunities,” Prasad added. The ranking is based on factors such as human capital, energy, water, transport, housing, healthcare, climate, office space availability and city culture. These factors constitute the basic socio-economic parameters critical in determining the growth of the city.

“With the metros already bursting at their seams, it is important to have options that are fresh for investments and conducive for business operations,” DTZ chief executive Anshul Jain said. Jain further said, “It becomes more important to encourage the tier-II cities to grow up to their potential so as to meet the twin objectives of de-congesting metros and nurturing talent in tier-II cities.”

Ironically, Delhi does not figure in the list.
