Most of the Bollywood films are now getting popular and recognised by its item numbers. One latest name adds to the list of item girl is Jaipur girl Shubhi Sharma. She will be soon seen dancing with John Abraham in Anees Bazmee’s upcoming comedy film ‘Welcome Back’. Ganesh Acharya choreographed the item song called ‘Main Bubbly Hui Tu Bunty Hua‘ which took seven days to shoot with more than 100 dancers. Movie will be release in 2014 and stars Anil Kapoor, Shruti Haasan, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal work in it. An elated Shubhi who has done a couple of Bhojpuri films and also films down south is looking forward to the release of the film. “It’s not a very meaty role. But I am sure people will notice me in the item number,” shares Shubhi who does not forget to thank her choreographer Ganesh for helping her grab the opportunity. “He was the one who suggested my name to Anees Bazmee Sir for the song,” says Shubhi who has learnt dancing from Ganesh Acharya’s academy in Mumbai.
While sharing stories of the shoot, she adds, “It took us seven days to picturise the entire song. We used to start at 9 in the morning and worked till 6 or 7 in the evening. But it was a great experience to work with an actor like John. I am thrilled to the core. Even John praised my dancing skills. And this makes me feel so good.”
After graduating from Jaipur’s Maharani College and then completing her masters from Rajasthan University, Shubhi moved to Mumbai to become an actor. On being asked whether starting her career with an item number was the right thing to do, she says. “Now when every top actors like Kareena and Katrina is doing a number, why not me? In fact, I am happy that I have got an opportunity to show my talent,” says Shubhi.
