J P Singhal was on Friday appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of University of Rajasthan here.
Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh appointed Singhal on recommendation of the selection committee and in consultation with the state government, according to an official release.
Singhal is a former principal of Agrawal PG college and state government’s nominee in the Syndicate (decision making body of the university), the release said.
He has been appointed as Vice Chancellor for a term of 3 years or 70 years of age, whichever first.
The newly appointed VC said that he would take charge today or tomorrow.
Divisional Commissioner Hanuman Singh Bhati was holding the charge of the VC- University of Rajasthan.
