Rahul Gandhi was rebuked by one of the spectators attending his Khedli rally in Rajasthan. During the rally, a pro-Modi poster was displayed as Rahul Gandhi gave his speech. The poster read- ‘Modi Lao, Desh Bachao’ [Bring Modi, save the country].
The man partially succeeded in spoiling the mood of the rally after his poster attracted the attention of audiences and media crew present at the rally.
Speaking to his supporters in Alwar, Rahul Gandhi announced that party’s manifesto will be created from public opinion. He also launched a website to gather public opinion.
“Till now your voices were not able to reach behind the closed doors. Till now political system was being run behind the close doors, we have now opened it up for the entire public,” he said.
He said that Congress’ manifesto will be created by general public. Whatever suggestions we receive will be incorporated in our system.
Meanwhile in Indore, harking back yet again to his family, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi today described his father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as his “hero”.
“Like every child, my father was my hero. When he was 40, he became the Prime Minister and during those days I have seen him struggling everyday for the people of the country,” Rahul said, addressing ‘Satta Parivartan’ (change of power) rally at the Dusshera Maidan here.
At a rally in Rajasthan yesterday, Rahul had referred to the assassinations of his father, and his grandmother Indira Gandhi.
Addressing today’s rally here in the poll-bound state, Rahul said he once met a slum-dweller woman in Maharashtra, who told him that she wanted one of her sons to become an IAS officer, and another a businessman. But, she added, she was struggling alone and was not getting any help from the system.
There are a large number of people who are fighting the system to fulfil their dreams of education, etc, but they get crushed, he said.
“The system should open its arms to help such people so that they can fulfill their dreams,” Rahul said.
Questioning BJP’s tall claims of development, he said, “During BJP’s ten years of rule in the state it has failed to develop Indore as a big commercial centre of the country. In fact it is not possible for them (BJP) to do so.”
