With a focus on inbound tourism, the 6th edition of Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) will be held on April 15-16 at the Birla Auditorium.
According to state director of FICCI, Gyan Prakash, “A congregation of around 278 foreign tour operators from across 57 countries will be participating in the event. An exhibition is also being organized as part of the event in which over 254 stalls will showcase and market their varied tourism products.”
“Like last year, Gujarat will be the theme state while Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Orissa, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Tamil Nadu will be the partner states,” Prakash said.
The inaugural session will be held at Hotel Lalit on evening of April 14. The mart has been organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
The objective of the international travel mart is to reinforce India as a world-class tourism destination. The B2B mart will give the foreign buyers an opportunity to interact with Indian sellers, policy makers, investors and mediapersons.
A unique feature of the GITB has always been structured, organized and pre-fixed B2B meetings, which will be spread over two days. This year as many as 7,351 B2B meetings are scheduled to take place. Social networking events like the inaugural dinner and a vibrant cultural programme are also part of the event.
Over the past five years, the GITB has had a wide and varied target audience. Apart from international and Indian tour operators and travel agents the event has also seen participation from hotels, resorts, spa owners, health care institutions, investors and financial institutions.
