Sunil Gavaskar Interim President for IPL said that the decision of the transfer of the home matches of Rajasthan Royal in Jaipur to Hyderabad was made due to RCA condition and that the team was consulted and the team was ready to play at Hyderabad.
The BCCI released the fixtures of the second leg of IPL 7 on Thursday, and Jaipur failed to attract any matches this season.Clearing the air the former India opener said that the Jaipur-based franchise agreed with the decision.
“The BCCI had sent letters to all the associations asking for the availability of the stadiums keeping in view the general elections. As there was a bit of uncertainty about Jaipur and other venues like Chennai, Mohali the endeavor was to make sure the schedule is not disrupted.
BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said that it’s not just Jaipur, but few other venues will also lose their matches due to uncertainty over the availability of home turf. “KXIP and CSK will also be playing some of their home matches outside Mohali and Chennai respectively, due to the non-availability of their home venue, for a large portion of May 2014,” he said.
