Dharna At CM House By Congress Councillors To Remove JMC CEO

Congress councillors staged a dharna at Chief Minister Askok Gehlot’s residence on Monday demanding removal of JMC CEO Jagroop Singh Yadav.

They returned only after CM assured them of looking into their demands. The councillors reached CM’s residence in the morning when he was hearing routine public grievances. As he was well aware of the repetitive demand of councillors, the CM initially ‘refused’ to listen to their grievance.

Miffed over the insult, 11 councillors sat on a dharna at CM’s residence. Their dharna continued for an hour, but the CM didn’t pay any attention. Sources said that the CM agreed to listen to their grievances when the news of their protest flashed on TV.

Three councillors, later, joined the protest. However, they denied having sat on a dharna at CM’s residence. Congress councillor Umradaraz said, “The CM was hearing public grievances when we reached his residence. When hearing ended, he invited us and listened to our demands seriously.”

When asked about any ‘good news’ regarding their two-month-long demand, the councillor said, “CM sahib has assured us to take a decision on our demand in a day or two. He also promised to collect the report from the divisional commissioner and take action accordingly.”

Notable, divisional commissioner Madhukar Gupta is probing the incident in which Yadav had allegedly misbehaved with Congress councillors on October 26.
