Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday said that the state government has obtained the Centre’s clearance for constructing a dam across the Parwan river (a tributary of Kali Sindh river) in Baran district.
Not missing the opportunity to obtain political mileage out of it, the chief attributed the development to his government’s “positive approach”. “They (BJP leaders) have a negative thinking which is reflected in their discomfort over the state getting the oil refinery (during Congress rule). Now we have made efforts and got clearance for the dam which will benefit the people of Baran, Jhalawar and the entire Kota division. This is a region of the former chief minister ( Vasundhara Raje); she used to be an MP from here, now her son represents the area, but we moved with a positive approach for development and got the long pending clearance,” Gehlot told reporters on Thursday.
