CM Raje directs tourism officials for development of tourism in state

CM Vasundhara Raje emphasizing a lift in tourism in Rajasthan, takes a review meeting of the tourism department. In the meeting she try to do optimum utilization of State’s tourism resources. Raje also laid emphasis on making the fairs and festivals of the state more attractive to lure more domestic and foreign tourists.

The CM also stressed on developing the Sambhar Salt Lake into a grand tourist destination and providing better security to every tourist. “We had started work on safe access from Jodhpur to Ramdeora in my last term that was discontinued by the previous government. Work on an alternate route should begin soon,” said Raje.

While reviewing the 60 day and 5-year-long action plan, Raje directed the officials to achieve the targeted work within the given time frame. Officials were directed to monitor the schemes and inspect the facilities provided to tourists.

The CM then directed officials to improve facilities on Palace on Wheels and Royal Rajasthan on Wheel to lure tourists. Other than that, directions to make attractive packages for both these trains were also given. Tourist information centres should also be well equipped, she said.

Aggressive marketing in tourism sector, development of religious places, generation of employment, planned development of Hathi Gaon, training centres for Kalbileya folk dance were also discussed during the meeting. Officials were directed to explore the possibilities of utilizing the existing airstrips for the development of tourism in the state.
