Ashok Gehlot Presents Rajasthan Budget 2013-14

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday presented the state annual budget for financial year 2013-14 in the legislative assembly.

Gehlot, who also holds finance portfolio, presented the budget at 11am when the House resumed its sitting after a recess of six days.

This is the fifth and the last budget of the present government as the assembly elections are due later this year.

Highlights of Rajasthan Budget 2013-14

Rs 650 crore for construction of new roads and renovation in rural areas
Rs 9500 crore for 6000 km roads
No hike in electricity tariff for BPL and farmers
Rs 100 crore for Roof Top power Generation scheme in Jodhpur
Road widening of Baneshwar dham
20,000 new hand pump in 3000 Villages
Drinking water from Bisalpur dam to Beawar, Nasirabad and other villages
Two free CFL for poor families
Rs 1 lakh aid for cancer and kidney treatment to families below Rs one lakh income
Free cancer and kidney treatment to BPL families
Rs 300 crore for Devnarayana Scheme
1500 Para computer teachers in Madarasa Schools
Rs 10 crore for Wakf board
Scholarships for OBC students
Rajasthan Oldage Home Yojna. 50 percent aide for building construction under this scheme
Re 1 per kg wheat to BPL families
Rs 10 per kg sugar for BPL families
1000 recruitments in general health centres
Mansik Vimandit Punarwas Yojna announced
Nishulk Janch Yojna (free medical checkup) from August 15
Scooty for OBC girl students
20,000 gas connections in Tiger Reserve areas
Laptop for toppers of 10th and 12th class, tablet to topper of 8th class
