The Assembly passed three bills- The Prisons (Rajasthan Amendment) bill, Rajasthan Police (Amendment) bill and Rajasthan Vexatious Litigation (Prevention) amid pandemonium.
The Assembly was adjourned within few minutes of convening following an uproar by Opposition members who cornered the government, demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over Lalit Modi controversy.
After the House assembled at 11 AM, Leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi and other opposition members started the uproar.
The Speaker called the listed question of medical and health minister and after the Heath Minister Rajendra Rathore’s reply, the Speaker adjourned the House till 12.30 hours.
When the House reassembled after the adjournment, Deputy Speaker Rao Rajendra Singh took up the listed business.
In the House, Independent MLA Manikchand Surana demanded inquiry headed by a sitting High court judge in the case of escape of criminals Anandpal Singh and two others in Parbatsar of Nagaur district when they were being taken in a police van from Didwana court to Ajmer jail recently.
Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria rejected the demand and said that the government has already appointed a Commissionerate inquiry in the matter which will give its report in two months.
The Minister said that he would inform the House about the inquiry report when it comes.
During the Congress members’ protest in the well of the House, Deputy Speaker Rao Rajendra Singh noticed one Opposition member using mobile phone and clicking “selfie” and warned Leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi for that.
Singh said that the Congress MLA was clicking selfie despite the fact that mobile phone is prohibited in the House.
After the three bills were passed, Singh adjourned the House for the day.
