In mark of respect to the late former President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, all post offices in Jaipur remained open on Sundays. Kalam who was known as the People’s President always spoke about the development of the nation. He was usually quoted saying about dreams and how people could achieve only if they worked towards it.
In a function Kalam had attended, he said that those who loved him should work an extra day after his death and had also requested the government not to declare holiday in his name. He was quoted saying,
“Don’t declare a holiday on my death, instead work an extra day.” The Jaipur government seems to have got the message rightly after which employees of all the post offices remained working on a Sunday.
