In a brain-teasing spelling competition, Pink City got its two best spellers on Friday. Akshita Rana from MGD Girl’s School and Nayanika Sharma from St. Angela Sophia Senior Secondary School won the city round of ‘HDFC Life’s Spell Bee – India Spells 2013’ powered by The Times of India. Both of them will now compete in the next round for a place in the semi-finals where top 16 from the country will be selected.
In the city final rounds, 367 students from 24 different schools participated. Ten students were selected for the second round on the basis of a spelling test, of them nine were girls. Only the best four made it to the third round at the end of which the winner was declared.
