A sudden, sharp increase in wind speed accompanied by rain showers, thunderstorms gave relief to the people of Rajasthan from risingheat. A mild intensity western disturbance and a locally generated cyclonic air circulation caused squall, thunder shower and light rains in north-east parts of the state in the wee hours today, a MET department official said.
About 60-80 km/hr dust storm caused whirls overcast the sky in north-east of Rajasthan covering Sriganganagar, Churu, Bikaner, Hanumagarh, Jaipur, Alwar and Dausa, he said.
There were light showers and drizzle in many cities including Jaipur, Alwar, Dausa, Churu, Bikaner, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh districts. Barmer recorded the maximum temperature of 42.9 degrees Celsius during the last 24 hours, while Jaisalmer 40.5 deg C, Jodhpur 40 deg C, while Jaipur recorded the maximum temperature of 39.1 deg C.
