RSRTC is all set to launch concessional booking scheme from next month. Rajasthan State Road Transport Department will start giving concession on tickets if booked well in advance.
There is a good news for the people commuting in buses of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC). Soon the RSRTC will be giving concession on tickets to its passengers if they book their tickets well in advance. This scheme is being used by various airlines to woo passengers. The RSRTC has already started the scheme at a small scale but now it plans to implement it at a large scale.
Although the RSRTC had introduced this scheme named ‘Flexi Fare Scheme’ in July for the deluxe buses on the Jaipur-New Delhi route, but due to lack of proper publicity and knowledge, very few people availed the benefit of this scheme.
This was extended in October when it was started for all the routes of deluxe buses running in the state, but it was confined to a small number of buses about 50 buses.
But this time the RSRTC is planning to introduce this scheme at large scale for all the buses including express (Blue Line) buses. Generally people take express buses to travel in the state, so officials are expecting that it would be beneficial for a large number of passengers. This scheme would probably be started from the first day of the new year.
The Flexi Fare Scheme is being started by the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) to increase the ratio of online ticket bookings that is low as compared to the ticket bookings at the windows and in the buses. Like the flight tickets, ticket rate costs low when it booked earlier a month or 15 days in advance. When the ticket for a bus is booked 15 days to one month in advance, the RSRTC will provide a discount of 20 per cent on the ticket rate. If the ticket is booked between 10 to 15 days before the date of travel, a 15 per cent discount will be given on ticket rate. Bookings before seven days will enable a concession of 10 per cent.
