Rajasthan frontier of BSF bags best frontier award for 9th time

BSF forces in Rajasthan are always known as prominent guards of the country’s western front. The Rajasthan frontier of BSF deployed at the 1045km-long Indo-Pak border has been awarded with the best frontier award among 13 frontiers in the country consecutively the ninth time. The award was bestowed upon the state frontier by Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar in a grand parade on BSF’s 48th foundation day at the Chhawla campus in New Delhi on Sunday. IG P C Meena (IPS) received the Ashwini Kumar trophy for the award (director general trophy for training and sports).

In this competition, 31 training and sports competitions (9 for training and 22 under the sports category) are organized between all frontiers of the BSF. In the training events, commando, band competition, anti sabotage, photography, videography, motor transport, bigule and sports events including swimming, water polo, high board diving, spring board diving, 12 km cross country race, 16km FPIT and judo are organized.

Under the able guidance of IG P C Meena, Rajasthan frontier performed excellent in every field and stood first in swimming, high board diving, spring board diving, wrestling Greco style, boxing, weight lifting, football, lawn tennis, judo, volleyball, photography and motor transport.

This time, the Rajasthan frontier being the winner scored 174 marks and the Gujarat frontier is on the second position with 159 marks.
