At the end of this week, Jaipurites could get another metro line project approved by Union Cabinet.
Connecting Mansarovar to Chaupal areas in the Jaipur city and total length of the first phase of the project is estimated to be around 9.5 kilometers.
The total project cost of complete phases is estimated to be around Rs 7,500 crore. Only first phase of Mansarovar to Chaupal is expected to cost Rs 507 crore. The project will be jointly funded by Centre and the state government.
Even as Rajasthan is a poll-bound state, the model code of conduct might not come into play since Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has already inaugurated the project.
