Self-proclaimed godman Asaram’s Chhindwara hostel warden Shilpi surrendered before Jodhpur sessions court on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the high court has rejected her anticipatory bail. She is believed to have played a crucial role in taking the girl who has accused Asaram of sexual assault from the hostel to Asaram’s ashram, where the alleged crime took place.
Earlier, Shilpi had also denied knowing Asaram. Police had claimed that Shilpi allegedly fed the victim stories about ghosts and spirits to lure her away. She has been absconding since August 29.
Asaram had allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl at his Jodhpur ashram.
