Udaipur city roads under water after heavy rainfall

Heavy rainfall submerged the city roads on Saturday. Water logging disrupted the road traffic and people were forced to stop and take shelter.

The neighboring areas of the city also received moderate to heavy rainfall. Normal life was thrown off-gear as pedestrians and motorists had to wade through knee deep water at different parts of the city. Students were seen struggling to get to their destinations through water-submerged roads.

According to weather department more rain with thunderstorm is expected in coming week in Udaipur and nearby areas. Meteorological department expected that the city lakes are likely to overflow if it rains more than what is expected.

Prof VS Chauhan, MeT informed that it was for the first time that the city witnessed heavy thunderstorm at 35-40 km pace with rain.

While, Mahi Dam of Banswara district recorded 23 mm rains.
