Top Congress party leaders, including president Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi will visit poll-bound Rajasthan this month to attend foundation-laying ceremonies of various projects and address political rallies.
The leaders will address rallies in Barmer, Bhilwara, Kishangarh (Ajmer) and Baran districts from 17 to 22 September, state pradesh congress committee chief Chandrabhan said on Saturday.
Sonia Gandhi will lay the foundation stone of ambitious oil refinery and petrochemical complex project in Barmer’s Pachpadra, and that of mainline electric multiple unit (MEMU) coach factory in Gulabpura town of Bhilwara on 22 September. The refinery is being jointly set up by the HPCL and the state government, whereas the MEMU coach factory, a project of the Railways, will be set up by Bhel.
Mass meetings will be held on the same day after the inauguration ceremonies in both the districts. On 21 September, the Prime Minister will lay foundation stone of the airport at Kishangarh in Ajmer district. Rahul Gandhi will visit Kota division on 17 September to lay the foundation stone of Chhabra Super Critical Power Plant, Chandrabhan said.
