Prince Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, the 28-year-old heir of the Udaipur‘s erstwhile royal family will tie the knot with Princess Nivritti Kumari Singh Deo, the only daughter of Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo and Sangeeta Kumari Singdeo on January 21, 2014.
A Manwar Patrika (formal invitation card) was taken to Eklingji temple on July 17, to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings for the wedding which will take place in Bhubaneswar. A group of religious priests performed a special and elaborate puja inviting Gods as the primary guests for the wedding and seeking their blessings.
The prayer ceremony also witnessed a royal procession from Shiv Shakti Parisar, Zenana Deodhi to the royal residence Shambhu Niwas. During the puja, the formal invite was prepared, with the ink taken from the legendary silver ink pot. The first invite was taken to the deities of 21 temples. Nivritti’s mother Sangeeta hails from Ajmer. The guest list includes Bollywood bigwigs, industrialists and politicians.
According to a source, the Manwar Patrika is just the beginning of a series of royal celebrations. With this invite being sent to relatives, friends and other guests, the festivities begin. The invitation cards, made in red and off-white hand made paper, are being delivered across the globe even as you are reading this.
