Around 50,000 state government employees in Rajasthan today boycotted work demanding revision of pay band and review of their cadre.

The employees said they were not satisfied with the report of Bhatnagar committee, which was formed by the state government to look into discrepancies in implementation of the sixth pay panel in salaries of the employees, and threatened to go on pen-down strike if demands were not met.

Around 54,000 employees across the state boycotted work and staged dharna outside district collectors’ offices, Rajasthan Joint Employees and Mazdoor Sangh president Mahesh Vyas said.

In Jaipur, employees staged a dharna behind state secretariat.

The secretariat cadre employees, however, did not participate and stayed away from the protest.
