The Rajasthan International Centre proposed near Officers’ Training School (OTS) will be developed with energy efficient features that will keep the structure cool even in the scorching summers. Chief minister Ashok Gehlot is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the centre on Friday morning.

The architects associated with the project said a square module dominates the building formation as per the designs. In order to avoid direct heat, the building has been proposed at 45 degrees.

The central square is designed in such a way that it will control the direct heat in the whole building.

Pramod Jain, chief architecture of the project, said, “We are very ambitious about this project and have incorporated numerous innovative and energy efficient features in the building. In addition to this, the entire building form is based on a square module.” Jain also said that the centre would be a unique project when compared to similar projects in other states. “In Delhi International Centre, only a hotel and an auditorium have been constructed. But here, we are going to develop convention centres, halls, conference rooms, guest rooms and sports facilities. It will be the first international centre with such special features,” Jain said. The private and public sector organisations could hold conferences at the centre that would generate revenue for the government.

Sources said that membership of the centre will be given to the employees of all sectors.

The Rajasthan International Centre would be constructed over an area of 4 lakh square feet and the entire project would cost Rs106 crore.

It would have an auditorium having capacity to accommodate 725 persons and two mini-auditoriums having capacity of 320 and 200 persons respectively.

A banquet hall proposed on an area of 10,000 square feet could easily accommodate 1,000 persons.

Shri Gehlot took stock of the model and map of the proposed centre. An audio-visual presentation was given divulging the details of the whole project.

The Chief Minister was informed that on the line of India International Centre of Delhi this centre is being constructed on 41, 700 square meters. The centre will have big lawn, auditorium, conference hall, meeting hall, well equipped library, banquet hall and guest house having 72 rooms.
