A group of 52 professionals from the U.S. will be visiting the Bhagwan Mahaveer Vikalang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) headquarters here this week-end to study the working of the world-famous Jaipur Foot. They will see the making of the gadget and interact with BMVSS founder D. R. Mehta to know about the success of the model.
The professionals are from various companies of the U.S. and have an average of 13 years’ experience in different fields. They are also pursuing an advanced Master of Business Administration study in the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School in Minneapolis, U.S.
The group is being brought to the city by Ravi Bapna, Professor of Information and Decision Science, who belongs to Jaipur and is an alumnus of Ajmer’s Mayo College. He is the son of eminent pharmacologist Jawahar Singh Bapna, an Emeritus Professor in SawaiMan Singh Government Medical College here. Mr. Bapna said on Wednesday that the group would be visiting India to appreciate and embrace the IT-enabled “flat world idea” in which the firms could think of the world as a pool of labour and understand the managerial and societal implications of globalisation.
