University of Rajasthan one of the best universities of the state and there are about 18 Lakh Degrees that the university still not have given to candidates since 1992. Rajasthan Education Minister K.C. Saraf on Thursday directed the University of Rajasthan (UoR) to ensure the distribution of pending 18 lakh degrees and 16,000 gold medals to the students in next three to four months.
Addressing the 69th Foundation Day of the varsity, Mr. Saraf said: “Over 18 lakh degrees, and 16,000 gold medals of qualifying students of Rajasthan varsity are yet not distributed since 1992. I request Vice Chancellor to take up this task to award degrees and medals to meritorious students in next three to four months.”
On the faculty shortage in the UoR, the Minister said the state government would extend its all support and contribution if vacancies were filled up.With the upcoming universities in Bharatpur, Alwar and Dholpur, the load factor on UoR would be minimised as most of the affiliated colleges would be taken care by the new varsities, he said.
He announced that Rs 10 lakh per year would be given to the University of Rajasthan from his MLA fund for five years.
Thirty three meritorious students were given away gold medals jointly by Union Minister of State for Water Resource S.L. Jat, Rajasthan Ministers K.C. Saraf, Arun Chaturvedi and Rajpal Singh Shekhawat.
