Winter Jaipur Polo Season would witness a star team from Argentina. This year winter Jaipur Polo Season will start from December 30 and goes till February 2, 2014.
All the leading polo players of the country would be seen in action at the event.
The Vice President of the Rajasthan Polo Club (RPC), Maharaj Jai Singh told the reporters that Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, who is student of Mayo at Ajmer, would also be seen in action in the first two tournaments.
Recently he had participated in the Jodhpur Polo Season as well. He has a handicap of -2.
Foreign players from Argentina and England will be joining the season which would kick off with Kota Cup (6 goals).
It will be followed by SMS Gold Vase Cup (January 6-12), the Mount Shivalik Polo Challenge Cup (10 goals, January 13-19), the ten goal Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh Cup (January 20-26), and the high-handicap Vodafone Sirmur Cup (14 goals, January 27 to 2 February).
The season would be dotted by a few exhibitions matches like Rajmata Gayatri Devi Memorial Cup on January 4, Carysil Cowboys Exhibition Match on January 11, an international match on January 18 to be played between India and Argentina and similarly, matches for Maharaj Prithi Singh Baria Cup (January 25) and the Raghu Sinha Mala Mathur Memorial Cup (February 1).
Most of the leading players of the game like Bashir Ali (+6); Sameer Suhag and Simran Shergill (+5), Vishal Singh, Manupal Godara, Dhruvpal Godara, Uday Kalan, Angad Kalan, Col. NS Sandhu, Maj. Ravi Rathore, Abhimanu Pathak and Hamza Ali all are +4 handicap; Maj. Vishal Chauhan, Gaurav Shahgal, Bhawani Kalvi and Lokendra Singh are +3 handicap; Col. Jogendra Singh, Kr. Ransher Singh Rathore, Himmat Singh Bedla and Maj. Sameer Chaudhary all are +2 handicap; Tarun Bilwal +1 handicap and Maharaj Narendra Singh is +0 handicap.
Some officers from the 61 Cavalry and Army will also participate in the polo tournament.
