Girls outperform boys in ICSE, ISC exams in Jaipur

Girls outperformed boys in ICSE Class X and ISC Class XII examinations, the results of which were announced on Friday.

Till the last report came in, Anjum Khan, topped ISC class XII examination in science in Jaipur. She secured 95.2% marks in the examination. Khan is aspiring to become an IAS officer. “I will do B-tech first then I will fight for the IAS competition. My father is an engineer in irrigation department. He also wants me to become an IAS officer.”

She said her parents supported her in studies and securing high marks became possible because of their help.

Besides, in ICSE class X (science), Pooja Goyal secured 96.2% marks. Goyal topped in science till last report came in. She has aspirations to become an engineer. “I want to crack IIT though I have not started the preparation yet,” Goyal said. “My father is an accountant. But I have interest in engineering. So, I will work hard to pass the IIT entrance exam,” she said.

Goyal claimed that she secured first positions in all the class exams she had appeared so far. Girls also topped the ICSE class X and ISC class XII examinations in science and commerce stream. However, in ICSE class X commerce stream, the first position was secured by Abhishek Khandelwal with 91.33% till the last report came in.

It was a proud occasion for parents whose daughters topped the examinations by securing highest marks. One proud father, Dharmendra Jainani, said, “My daughter Surbhi secured 97.25% in class XII commerce. It’s a proud moment for me. She wants to become a chartered accountant.”
