Tremors were felt across parts of Rajasthan Tuesday, causing panic among the people. There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property.

The residents of Jaipur, Bikaner, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Hanumangarh and other cities felt the tremors for 10-20 seconds around 4.20 p.m., officials said.

Maximum intensity was felt by people living in high rise buildings.

“I was taking my afternoon nap and suddenly I found my bed shaking… I rushed out of the building and saw other people also coming out of their houses. There was a panic for a few minutes,” said Deepti Singh, a housewife living on the sixth floor of an apartment block in Tilak Nagar area here.

“I was working on my computer and suddenly felt my chair shaking … it was a very typical feeling. I came out of my office which is on fourth floor,” said R.K. Sharma, working in a private office in Raja Park area here.
